I remember times before computers! In 2009, I started blogging using Dreamweaver. Yes, that one. OMG, I still have a headache from that experience. Which is why I’m so happy we’ve progressed. Life for writers is now so much easier.
One of the tools I’m just beginning to use is Plottr.com. One of my fellow writers told me about it. Plottr is a way of charting out your stories in an organized way. If you’re a visual person, like me, this is a big help. You can see the whole thing on a workboard.
Plottr even has templates for structuring your story, from The Hero’s Journey to Save the Cat Writes a Novel. It’s really helpful, and I’m so glad I learned about them.
If you’re not a writer and wouldn’t touch writing a novel with a fireman’s ladder, that’s cool, too. Thanks for letting me share this info with my fellow writers.
The reviews are rolling in for my latest novel. I’m ranking a solid 4.4 out of 5 stars for We Did This Once Before, in which middle-aged Kim, divorced and struggling, decides to return to her childhood home in Florida to save money, help her mother, and start a new life. Only thing is, Mom has a masters in manipulation, and Kim might now be stuck. Has she learned enough in the last fifty years to break free–again?
