I think nobody is that surprised, but it sure brings mortality home. She was one of the hardest working women in show biz, had like thirty gigs scheduled between now and the end of the year. Went in for a procedure. Boom. We’re reminded to appreciate every minute. Rest in peace, Joan. You earned it.

You are so right, Lynne. I often wonder if frequent cosmetic surgery could have mucked some things for Joan as well. There has to a lot of hidden scar tissue in the neck area. But, I know putting a person under at that age is risky business. She had a great life, tho, and I applaud her guts. Thanks for the post.

She was definitely a force to be reckoned with, and she won’t soon be forgotten.
Gorgeous and classy photo.

That is a gorgeous picture. She was one of those people you loved to hate…. So “no boundaries” in her talk. She was really a pioneer for women being honest in comedy. Quite a woman! She will be remembered fondly.

My husband was talking this morning at breakfast about how much he admired her and what she did. It is a nice tribute that you have here!
